MCC - Faithful Saints

Psalm 1:1-3 (NIV) Psalm 1

1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked

or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,

2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season

and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

John 14:1-4 (NIV)

Jesus Comforts His Disciples

1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.

2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Acts 9:32 (KJV)

1 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV)

13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Numbers 13:30-33 (NKJV)

30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses,

and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”

31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people,

for they are stronger than we.”

32 And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out,

saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants,

and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature.

33 There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants);

and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

Proverbs 14:12 (NKJV)

12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

Joshua 14:6-12 (NIV)

Allotment for Caleb

6 Now the people of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him,

“You know what the Lord said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh Barnea about you and me.

7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land.

And I brought him back a report according to my convictions,

8 but my fellow Israelites who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt in fear.

I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.

9 So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance

and that of your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’

10 “Now then, just as the Lord promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses,

while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old!

11 I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then.

12 Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there

and their cities were large and fortified, but, the Lord helping me, I will drive them out just as he said.”

Ephesians 5:1-5 (NLT)

Living in the Light

1 Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.

2 Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ.

He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

3 Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.

4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.

5 You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God.

For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

Final Prayer

Jesus, fulfilment of promise and hope for the future.

May we rely on you in strength and rest on you in weakness,

now and in all our days;

Amen
